At Tula Vida, horses change lives. Beauty is one of those horses—and right now, she needs support to heal.
Many of you have felt the impact of Beauty's wisdom and giant heart in experiential sessions. You also know that—as part of their own mental, emotional, and physical well-being—the horses here live and roam freely as a herd, with plenty of friends, freedom, and forage.
Recently, Beauty injured her leg and will need to spend up to six months on stall rest with specialized care. She tore the sheath that holds the tendon in place near her hock, so it keeps popping out of place—painful, uncomfortable, and slow to heal.
She is making gradual progress, and we are doing everything we can (vet visits, cut grass, hay, pain medication, and more) to support her. We also have some additional treatments in mind that we know would help, but are currently beyond our financial reach.
We’re raising funds to provide:
- A specialized hock support brace
- Tendon-specific herbal supplements
- A PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) machine to reduce inflammation and stimulate healing—an investment that will also benefit future horse injuries and support older herd members like Cosmo and Imperio with arthritis.
Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate horses in Costa Rica and to provide transformational horse experiences for those in need.
