Help Bear be a puppy again

Donation protected
Can you help Bear be a puppy again?
-
This is Bear, he's a beautiful German Shepherd puppy who has recently been diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia. In his current condition, he is unable to stand from laying down without crying or walk without limping. As such, Bear is relying on 4 x strong painkillers daily - without which he is in a lot of discomfort.
-
Poor Bear is currently unable to be a typical puppy. He cannot play with his four legged friends & exercise properly (although he desperately wants to) - for fear of causing further damage to his hips.
-
Due to the severity of his dysplasia, which is evident in BOTH hips, Bear will require a total hip replacement in order to be 100% pain free & get his puppyhood back.
-
The price for one hip operation ranges from £7,000-£10,000, therefore we are hoping to raise £5,000 in total to add to our current savings to afford the best treatment possible for our boy.
-
Despite having premium pet insurance, his cover will only contribute a fraction of the money needed for him to have this vital surgery.
-
The hip replacements will be performed as soon he is fully developed (in a few months time) - so all we can do until then is make preparations and keep him comfortable with drugs.
-
ANY donation you could make towards Bear's hip replacement would be SO appreciated. It breaks our hearts to see him like this, you can see his frustration when he can't do the things he wants to do i.e. playing and running freely. We are desperate to fix his hips for him so he can get back to the fun loving, care-free, energetic puppy he was a few months ago & deserves to be!

Thank you so much.

9/5/19 UPDATE: Bear had his 1st surgery
-
The surgery went smoothly & they were really pleased with his post op recovery so were happy to send him home earlier than expected.
-
He’ll have one of us with him 24/7 now until we’re confident he’s out of the woods & fully healed up. Then we’ll be looking to schedule him in for his 2nd hip replacement, which he can have 4-6 weeks from now!
-
It’s such a relief to have him home & to know he’s now just one more operation away from being 100% pain free!
-
Thank you so much for all your well wishes and messages about Bear, we’ve been blown away by the support! And a massive thank you to all who kindly donated towards his 1st surgery, we couldn’t have got to this point so soon without your help!❤️

17/7/19 UPDATE: Bear’s 2nd total hip replacement surgery has been scheduled for August
-
Bear’s 2nd op is all booked in for next month and it can’t come soon enough!
-
Now that he has one good hip (left), the dysplasia of his right side is even more pronounced. He’s become quite badly lame on his bad hip (as he’s weight bearing more on his solid implant) and is struggling on his walks; so we’ve had to reduce his exercise duration & increase his painkiller dosage again . This is the hardest part as he really loves being outdoors and he has so much energy that he just can’t completely burn off.
-
It’s a difficult balance of exercise and rest at the moment. It’s important we keep building his muscle mass around his new hip but in the meantime, his bad one is still very painful!
