Help Bailey Get Her Knee Surgery

I’m starting a GoFundMe to help pay for my dog’s knee surgery.

Bailey is a 8 year old Cavalier and has been my best girl since she was a puppy. She’s quite the sassy girl loved by many!

Bailey has history of arthritis, back pain, and a grade 2 luxating patella (dislocating knee cap) - all of which have been monitored and managed with pain meds, joint supplements, and careful play.

On June 8th 2021 I noticed Bailey acting a bit strange and when I went to touch her, she cried out and became very tense. She was reluctant to walk and was acting depressed for the remainder of the night - VERY unlike her. When I finally got her to walk, she was hobbling around on the same leg that had history of luxation. The following morning, she wasn’t putting any weight on the same leg. I brought her in to the clinic to be seen ASAP and we couldn’t even get her on her side without her crying out in pain.

She had to be sedated, x-rays were taken, and the doctor was able to manipulate her leg around to determine how bad it truly was without her feeling it. The x-rays and thorough exam revealed a torn cruciate and her luxating patella was now leaning more toward a grade 3. A torn cruciate is the tearing of an critical ligament in the knee. This will leave her leg unstable and can be very painful. The cruciate and patella will both need surgical repair.

I will be using the money donated on GoFundMe toward the surgery, the recovery, and physical rehabilitation services before and after the surgery.

I am asking for any kind of support here, as it’s just me and this is a very expensive procedure. I just want what’s best for my girl and to get her back to her funny, sweet, and sassy self!!
