Armed attackers shoot innocent dog

The photo of me and Gary is us leaving the house Sunday morning June 10th for a family picnic to see my young cousin off to the military.  Now he is at the OSU vet hospital, where he must stay for a week to have a bullet wound cared for.  After a lovely time at the park we were arriving home with a friend, Shyan.   We had driven separate vehicles.  As we got out of our vehicles in my driveway two armed men ran to either side of her vehicle.  One put a gun to her head and demanded her keys.  It seemed like they didn't notice Gary and I further ahead in the driveway at my vehicle.  When they noticed us, they shot at us, wounding Gary.  The attackers then threw down the keys and ran away, taking only our sense of safety and security with them.  Thankfully the bullet went straight through and exited only shattering Gary's ulna.  The doctor said he will only need surgery if the bone continues to split up to his elbow.  They are keeping him sedated while they monitor it and will do more Xrays next week.  Gary makes friends with everyone and wouldn't hurt a fly.  He is the happiest and most mellow fellow I know.  His best friends are three cats and myself and we can't wait for him to get home!  I could never consider putting him down versus the cost of medical attention so here I am, a couple thousand in the hole and counting.  Anything folks could do to help would be eternally appreciated!  I LOVE YOU GARY!
