This is Avery.
She is an intelligent, beautiful, caring, and fun loving 3 year old girl, and best friends with our oldest daughter Alyssa.
Around December of 2019, Avery had a bump develop on her right temple, and it was not improving. In February, every parent's worst nightmare came true for her parents Rob and Megan.
Avery went in for an ultrasound where she was diagnosed with a very rare and uncommon cancer known as Osteosarcoma, and rushed to Johns Hopkins to start her cancer treatments.
Osteosarcoma is a very rare form of cancer that impacts her bone and requires a long treatment regimen of chemo, surgery, medications, lots of hospital and doctor visits.
2020 has been a very tough year for everyone, and everyone has seen that even the smallest things make the largest impact to our lives.
Avery's parent's Rob and Megan are amazing individuals, kind-hearted, and have an amazing daughter Avery, who has been battling everyday with a very tough disease, this pandemic, missing work, Dr appointments, and for those who may not know they are expecting a new baby as well in September!
The last thing any family or parent should face is a diagnosis such as this alone. As well as the expenses that come along with it, between copays, parking, medical supplies, medications, in-addition to a new baby things have add up quickly!
We could not sit by and let these great people face this alone. They have done so much for us, friends, and family, and we truly hope that any help we can provide will make these times a little more bearable for them.
