Help Army veteran and father Kenny Freeman

Donation protected

On December 30th, Army Veteran Kenny Freeman was horrifically injured on the job just days after Christmas. Tragically crushed between two sanitation vehicles, Kenny was left with bleeding on the brain, a shattered pelvis and orbital bone, two broken legs, a broken hip, fractured eye socket and jaw bone. Kenny was rushed to Grady Hospital and into intensive care where after three surgeries, he is now responsive. At only 33, Kenny, a brother, father, and my best friend faces debilitating life-altering circumstances, decades of painful rehabilitation, astronomical medical bills, and a interrupted life of being his family's bread winner. Although Kenny has always been a fighter, this will be the fight of his life!

At the age of 18, following the tragic passing of his father, Kenny, the eldest son of 7 siblings, selflessly shouldered the responsibility of being his family's male role model and financial backbone. Compelled by an obligation to simultaneously serve his country and family, Kenny enlisted in the Army and served in Iraq. Although the awful realities of war left their impression, through his boundless optimism, Kenny overcame the trauma and became a source of inspiration for his family, friends, and community. As always, we will pull together, yet being presented with the prospects of Kenny’s future fight we know the reality. Kenny is facing an unfathomable physical, emotional, and financial crisis. We will stand by his side through this difficult journey and will support him as he has always supported us.

Because of Covid, Kenny has spent most of his days in the hospital without the face-to-face support of his family and friends. Yet, he continues to fight! As always, his resilience, positivity and strength are an inspiration to us all. Knowing Kenny, we know, he is ready to move on with his life and the long journey that lies ahead. It will not stop him!

As we consider the fact that Kenny could be deprived of his lifelong goal of walking his daughter down the aisle, we know that to realize his dreams he will require in-depth rehabilitation and his independent nature will require him to have quality resources and skilled care. On the road to full recovery, Kenny will need handicap-accessible equipment, new living arrangements, possibly a special vehicle and a host of other rehabilitation aids- items and augmentations that are well outside of his family's means now and in the immediate future.

With support from Kenny's entire family, friends, and the help of your contributions, we hope to ease Kenny's transition into his new lifestyle.

This Go Fund Me will go toward his mounting medical bills, ongoing care and living costs, and to make it easier for Kenny to get back to living the life he loves with the people he loves.

If you can find it in your heart to give to this American and family hero, please know that any amount is appreciated. Thank you so much in advance, your support is greatly appreciated.
