Help Arlo with his broken elbow surgery

Hi everyone. I never thought I’d ever make a go fund me. I’m sure everyone thinks that, and here I am eating my words. On Monday evening of September 13th, Arlo had the zoomies outside, and ran full speed off our deck. Our deck is only two half steps down to grass, probably a foot of height total. As he landed, his Ulna pushed upwards into his Humerus, snapping his joint in half, and also snapping and detaching it completely from his Humerus.

Hoping it was just a hyperextension or a sprain, we iced his shoulder and elbow area, and took him to the vet first thing on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, the vet took one look at Arlo’s elbow and knew it was broken. The X-Ray confirmed the severity of the break.

Due to the lack of qualified orthopedic specialists on the western slope, we have no choice but to go to Colorado Springs to Colorado Canine Orthopedics to have a specialist save his leg. It is either pay for this surgery, or amputate. Amputation is not an option, as I want to preserve his quality of life as much as possible.

Arlo will have his surgery at 8am at Colorado Canine Orthopedics on Thursday September 16th. Due to hard financial times to begin with, this code estimate has the potential to bankrupt me. But this is my baby, and it is not a question of whether to help him or not. I am asking for assistance for his vet bills from today’s visit (9/14/21), as well as his surgery estimate and post operative care he will require.
