HSA St. Georges University Grenada Trip

Donation protected
Hi! My name's Ariel, I am currently a junior at Bayside High School and Health Sciences Academy. I was accepted into the Health Sciences Academy  as a freshman and it was honestly the best decision I have ever made. I have been determined to achieve my goal of becoming a dentist  ever since I was 8. While kids were saying "I want to be a princess when I grow up," I was reminding my siblings to brush their teeth and "Don't forget to floss!" I would add. My main drive for wanting to attend this program was because I knew it would be a great opportunity to get a head start in the medical field.

One of the main reasons I want to be a dentist is that it gives me the opportunity to help so many people. I have experienced the highs and lows of life at a young age, and the response from some people who have helped and continue to help my family is beyond inspiring. I made a promise to myself then to help out anyone I can. Becoming a dentist will enable me to follow through on my promise by providing the funds and opportunities. The idea of doing a job that interests me and permits me to aid others brings me endless amounts of joy.

A little background on me as a student:
-Honor Roll student
-actively involved in the SCA
-was Sophomore Class Secretary. I am currently Junior Class Vice President
-participated in Freshmen Orientation the past two  years
-involved in the Health Occupations Students of America club at Bayside (HOSA)
-on my school's planning council (we meet a few times a year to see how Bayside is doing and what we need to do to make it better)
-helped out with the Back to School Teacher's Breakfast for the past two years
-Spanish Honor Society member
-participated in the Every 15 Minutes program  at Bayside my sophomore year (it's a program about the dangers of drunk/distracted driving)

--This is just a short list of the activities I have participated in at Bayside. I am a very dedicated, determined, and hard-working student.

The summer before your senior year (mine will be the summer of 2015) you get the amazing opportunity to travel to Grenada to attend the Med/Vet Camp at the pristine St. George's University!

I GOT ACCEPTED INTO  THE PROGRAM! :) <3

Everyone I have talked to said it is one of the best experiences they ever had. I know it is going to be tough for me to raise enough money for this trip, that's why I signed up on this website. I know this is a rough time for families economically, but any amount would be greatly appreciated. I promise you it will not go to waste!

If you are not in a place to donate money, that is okay!! My only request is that you share this with your friends and family!

What you are helping me pay for:

10-day Academy tuition (includes accomodations, transportation on the island, all meals, medical instruction, and field trips) - S2,100
