Help Annie fight cancer

In January, Annie was selected to be part of a 12 person collaboration team with Koreatown Run Club and Old Man Run Club to race The Speed Project, an unsanctioned 300 mile relay race from LA to Las Vegas.

Just 4 weeks later, Annie had to undergo surgery for what was supposed to be a removal of an ovarian cyst, but during the surgery it was revealed that Annie has been diagnosed with stage 1C ovarian cancer. After some testing, Annie’s doctor scheduled her to go through chemotherapy the same week the TSP race was scheduled for.

Annie asked her doctor if she could postpone her chemo treatment by one week so she could race The Speed Project with our team and accomplish this crazy feat of running 300 miles from LA to Las Vegas, and her doctor greenlighted her to run the race. No matter what happens out there in the desert we want to be with Annie every step of the way, in the desert and beyond.

As a team and a community we’re here to support Annie. We all know Annie as someone who is selfless and is always showing up for her community with her generosity and kindness. Maybe she’s cooked something homemade for you and gave it to you for no reason, maybe she’s brought you back treats from her last vacation abroad, maybe she’s captured photos of you running your race or your training, maybe she’s given you’ve a ride home at night after a Monday night run, or maybe she’s handed you a cup of Gatorade at a long run aid station. Annie is always the first to volunteer her help—she is one of the sweetest people in our community and she’s always giving back to us in some way or another. Let’s show Annie what this running community is all about and help Annie go the distance in the desert and with her fight against cancer. Let’s fucking go.

All donations will go towards helping with Annie’s treatment and fight against cancer, and to help offset some out of pocket chemotherapy treatment costs, where she is currently scheduled for 4 months of treatment. We also want Annie to use these funds however she desires. We love you so much Annie!
