I have a 1988 Ford camper that I've been living in and fixing up myself for the last two years. It's fully paid for and has been my home, but recently I started having major breathing problems. After some investigation, I found out that my back windows had been leaking, and the water didn't dry out before I sealed them. Now, there's black mold inside, and I'm no longer able to stay in my camper. I'm currently staying with a friend while I try to figure out how to fix this.
I'm on a fixed income and receive disability after being run over by a drunk driver in 2017. I sustained a brain injury, neck injury, and lost hearing in one ear. Since then, I've had brain surgery, neck surgery, ear surgery, and surgeries on both wrists and elbows. My income barely covers my lot rent, electricity, and food, so I simply don't have the money to repair my camper. The entire inside needs to be stripped, all the windows replaced, and the damaged wood rebuilt to make it safe again.
This would mean everything to me. I would be so thankful for any help I can get, whether it's money or donations of wood, flooring, windows, or tin for shower walls I want to use pallet wood to cover the walls and ceiling so if anyone can donate enough to help with that —anything at all would be very much appreciated. I live 647 miles away from my mother, daughter, and granddaughter, and every year they drive to see me and stay in my camper. Being able to fix it means I can keep seeing my family, which would mean the world to me.
