Help Angel Fight Stage 4 Cancer
Don protégé
Hello, my name is Paige. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I heard an inspiring story the other day about a family that relied on their 12 chickens for eggs for their many mouths to feed. One day, a fox hunted and killed all the chickens they had. A desperate, poor, mother knew she couldn't afford to replace 12 chickens. But, she also knew she had to do something to feed her family. Knowing how precious chickens were to her family, she knew 12 would be hard to come by and a lot to ask of anyone. Instead, she relied on the good faith of everyone nearby and asked each neighbor for 1 chicken. It was several small acts of kindness that restored her and her family.
Today, I am asking the same of you.
You see, my dearest friend, Angel has stage 4 cancer that is rapidly taking over her throat and larnyx. The doctors have told her that if she doesn't start treatment soon that she won't have much time. She is 32.
Hard times barely describe everything she is going through and it doesn't help that she recently lost her insurance coverage. Now, she is left grappling with the idea that she may not be able to get the treatment she needs to have a fighting chance.
Bad things happen to good people all the time. Life is unfair. We never know when the fox is right outside our door waiting to steal our chickens.
As humans, we are made in God's image to have hope. We can only have hope if we work together.
All I am asking is for $1 from you and that you send this to 1 other person. I know how precious money is for everyone to survive in our world and I know it is increasingly hard to come by - so I won't ask for much.
But, I will ask-because everyone deserves a fighting chance.
Thanks again for reading this, donating, and sharing. All donations will go directly to Angel's radiation and chemotherapy treatment.
***UPDATE***
Words cannot express how much gratitude I have for all of your support! With the donations so far, we have been able to reinstate Angel's health insurance for the month of May. She has been able to continue her appointments at Emory's cancer center in Atlanta. She is encouraged by everyone's support and so very grateful.
Her fight is just beginning though. She is applying for financial assistance through the hospital- but there is no guarantee. In the mean time, my goal is to try and raise enough money to keep her insurance active. Her monthly payment is over $950 to maintain her coverage through Cobra. It's a small price to pay compared to the enormous cost of treatment without insurance. I'm still humbly asking for everyone to share this page, donate what you can, and continue to prayer for Angel's journey as she battles cancer.
Thanks again for reading this!
