Help ANDREI and his family

As members of the Romanian Orthodox Church "Saints Joachim and Anna" from Seattle, we just learned that Andrei (Romanian for Andrew), the seven-year-old son of our Rev. Fr. Stefan, our beloved Parish Priest, had just gone through a brain tumor surgery. We all have participated in happy ceremonies and sad moments of loss in our community. However, we have never faced such a challenge.

This is a fundraiser to help the family of Rev. Fr. Stefan pay for Andrei’s caregiving expenses caused by an expected long-term recovery.

Andrei is a funny, smart, and energetic boy who has a deep love for God. The youngest of the three children of Father Stefan, Andrei is a dedicated Altar Boy, who, every Liturgy, serves alongside his father while his mother Adriana and his two sisters Anastasia and Parascheva sing in the church choir.

Father Stefan’s young family have been a model for our community through their unflinching belief that it is good and love in every human soul, light and hope in any challenge, and a spiritual kinship in God’s family.

This young family moved to Seattle only last year just before Easter, after two years in Norfolk, Virginia where they succeeded in bringing more people into the community of Saint Mary Church. After they left a village in Romania, they have worked hard to adjust to American life. They are all brave in their determination to succeed in their spiritual mission as they welcome everybody in our church, irrespective of their ethnicity, culture, and race. Their sincere respect for others, capacity for friendship, and courage to face hardships make them the heart of our small parish.
