Help Anastasiia To Fight Cancer!

Hi everyone!

My name is Olga Trach, and I am starting this GoFundMe campaign for my cousin Anastasiia Lutsenko (Romanko).
Anastasiia is a scientist and a researcher presently dedicating her career to rebuilding a competitive scientific community in a turbulent Ukrainian environment.
Over the years of her professional activity, she has performed in various projects across the globe (for United Nations, European Commission, etc.). It led her to become a passionate innovation management expert providing business consulting and teaching with an extensive 10+ years of experience both academically and professionally.

Sadly, Anastasiia was diagnosed with a sporadic type of cancer, stage III b1. Its localization and medical characteristics surprised doctors from many countries, including Israel, Turkey, Germany, Russia, Ukraine and Japan. Unfortunately, after four attempts, it was only possible to determine what kind of tumour cells are only at the post-surgery stage.

Diagnosis: Moderately differentiated endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the vagina pT2, pN1 (1/21), L1, V0, R0, G2 FIGO III (verified by OptiPath, Frankfurt, Germany) condition after radical laparoscopic hysterectomy with resection of the rectum en-block, pelvic and paraoral lymphodesection, omentectomy. Basically, it is easier to say what was left untouched. As well as, she will never be able to have kids herself.

Thanks to the medical team and clinic, Anastasiia has already undergone a massive surgery that lasted endless hours. In addition, is getting further curative treatment that includes both chemotherapies and various types of radiation therapy performed simultaneously. This plan includes a minimum of four months of therapy that she has just started.

During this time, Anastasiia would love to continue her highly active professional activities. She is very dedicated to and passionate about what she does. But, due to the physically demanding nature of the treatment, she cannot perform her duties at work. At work, her team understands this and supports her, but the financial side of the process remains a bottleneck.

Donations raised will allow Anastasiia to take the time needed to concur the illness and heal without being worried about the financial side of this battle for her life.

It is essential to mention that it is incredible how positive Anastasiia in battling this. Her main motto is that “It is nothing more special than the flu and must get not more special emotions than that. Cancer simply doesn’t deserve to be special”. However, this cannot be said about the treatment. It is critical to perform it on time and with no delays, so cancer remains like the flu, forever in the past.

Her friends say she is a true inspiration, and when they hear her voice, they say they did not expect that much courage and strength. She is the one to encourage them and not vice versa. They tell her example changes their understanding of how this battle should and must be led. They say she is a true samurai; calm, positive and persistent.
