Help the Van Culin Family Keep Amy's Spirit Alive

Donation protected
During her recent pregnancy, Amy Van Culin (Graeff) noticed a lump on her back. On Monday, December 7, 2020, less than one month after giving birth to her second child, Amy heard the word that we never want to hear: cancer. She was diagnosed with high-grade double-hit B-cell lymphoma. (If you know Amy, "high grade" and "double hit" are perfect phrases to describe her.)

While we are all at a loss for words, there is one thing we do know. Amy is as stubborn as they come, and she is ready to kick some lymphoma butt.

In order to help the Van Culins focus on Amy's fight, the family needs our help. Their "rainy day fund" will soon be depleted due to medical and childcare costs for their 3.5-year-old and 1-month-old. In the near future alone, Amy is facing several rounds of chemo, scans, medicines galore, and expected/unexpected hospital visits. While we know she will recover, we also know the recovery will be extensive and may affect her ability to work. Fighting this during COVID makes it even more daunting.

If you have met Amy, you know she would do anything for her friends, and her stubbornness would prevent her from asking for help. Please show her how much she means to you by contributing whatever you can to her fundraiser. From her time at Ohio Premier to Ohio State Soccer to her work as an attorney in the Columbus area, we know she has touched so many of you.

Please also consider sharing this GoFundMe page on your social media pages or via email.  Anything helps. This is especially true when the average cost for lymphoma treatment is nearly $100,000.  Also, in whatever version of prayer you practice, please hold Amy, Todd, Kylie, and Baby David in your hearts.

Thank you for being a part of the Van Culin's community.  It is difficult to find the words that describe how deeply grateful we know they are for each and every one of you.  Thank you for your endless support and generosity.

If you'd like to follow along on her journey, Amy and her family will be posting updates here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/amyvanculin
