Hello everyone!
This past summer I was lucky enough to go to Thailand with this amazing organization called IAESTE . I spent my time there working at a hydroelectric dam, meeting locals and other international students, and exploring the beautiful country.
I would very much like to reapply with IAESTE, and work internationally again next summer. Last summer, though Thailand is ultimately where I was hired, I also applied to work in Switzerland, Sweden, Japan, and Northern Ireland as well. The possibilities for the summer of 2019 are limitless!
IAESTE guarantees an international, paid internship, but I will still need to pay an application fee, travel expenses, and housing expenses.
Application fee: $775 | Deadline: Dec 1, 2018✔
Visa: ~$90 | Deadline: TBD ✔
Round-Trip Airfare: $1000-$1600 | Deadline: TBD
Rent for the summer: ~$1000 | Deadline: TBD
Right now, I am working part-time as an automation intern (as well as some odd jobs as a stagehand), and going to school part-time in the evenings. This summer will by my last as an undergrad, and maybe the last time I will be able to participate in IAESTE. I am unable to afford the application fee at this time, but I am saving up as we speak.
If I can get enough for the application fee, I will be able to continue saving for this trip until I leave. If I can't raise the money for the application fee, I will return any donations I might have received.
Thailand was an amazing experience. I cannot think of a better way to really get to know a new place than working there for a few months.
