Help Amanda & Family Pay Bills While Recovering

Amanda is a close friend of mine who is going through some rough times. She has been diagnosed with a cerebrospinal fluid leak in her spinal cord and needs to have a procedure done to attempt to plug the leak. After this procedure she will be out of work for 3 months. Amanda is the main source of income for her family of 4 and this news is devastating. Her husband would like to work, but due to an injury is not able to do so at this time. Any donations we receive will go to bills. I want to be able to help my dear friend heal and not have to worry about having heat, electricity, food, and a roof over her family's head.

Amanda had been suffering from debilitating headaches for a while before finally deciding to go to the doctors. She figured it was just stress due to the pandemic, having 2 kids learning virtually, and the impeding holidays.  Not the case. The day after Christmas, Amanda found out that she is leaking cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) which is causing her headaches. This is a serious problem that needs immediate treatment.

Amanda’s doctors have told her that she will need to undergo a blood patch to help plug the leak. After this procedure, she will need to be out of work for 3 months to ensure that the patch holds. As you would imagine, this is where big problems start. Amanda is unfortunately not eligible for short term or long term disability. To top it all off, she also is not eligible for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) due to her being at her current job for 10 months. Amanda’s husband would love to be able to help pick up some of the financial burden, however he is unable to due to his own medical difficulties. This also has happened so suddenly that Amanda was not able to save up any money.

Amanda now has to ask herself the hard questions that no one ever wants to have to ask themselves: “How am I going to be able to pay my bills?” “Will I be able to keep a roof over my family’s head?” “Can I just work anyway and hope the patch holds?”

Amanda is a hardworking mom who loves her family and would do anything to make sure that they are happy and healthy. She is the type of friend that will help others out in any way that she can. I want to be able to help my friend in the way that she’s always helping others. Please consider donating so Amanda can have some peace of mind and focus on recovering.53739528_1610402982810463_r.jpeg53739528_1610403031379534_r.jpeg53739528_1610403002216233_r.jpeg
