Allen Vann, 39, is a Mechanical Specialist at Jim Beam and Captain and EMT of the all-volunteer Midway Fire & Rescue Department. In March, he married the love of his life, Leslie, and traveled to Mexico for their honeymoon when Allen began having severe headaches and memory issues.

Once they returned to Kentucky, a trip to the ER and a flurry of tests revealed Allen had brain cancer. Since then, he’s undergone surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. What should have been some of the happiest and most carefree days of Allen and Leslie’s life have been spent worried about a cancer diagnosis, doctor’s appointments and medical bills.
