Help Allé Recover from a Hysterectomy

Hi everyone, my name's Allé and my pronouns are he/ him. I'm a trans guy and I’m planning to get a hysterectomy in April of this year. I’m fundraising for the cost of bills associated with the 4-6* (6-8 weeks, correction) week period I will need to take off. This is the next step for me in my transition to becoming who I really am. This is a gender affirming surgery and I know some might see it as elective but I don't. 

I’ve always been terrified of having babies and I finally know why. I really didn’t want them! I love them but I don’t want to be a parent who gives birth - now or ever. I’ve always been very clear about that. I didn’t realize why until I started putting the pieces together (that I'm trans). 

I’ve wanted a hysterectomy for a while now (1-2 years) and I’ve been working on this for 6 months trying to line up medical care in Asheville. It’s been difficult but I really want it because I don’t want to have babies and I don’t want these body parts inside of me any longer. I know they’re not female but they feel like it and I don’t want them to be part of me - it’s dysphoric to think about. It’d be a huge relief to get done because I keep getting phantom cramps and they’re almost worse than real/ normal cramps!

I really appreciate any and all support you can give! I work for myself advocating for trans and fat affirming wellness spaces as many of you know. As a result, I don’t have paid time off and I don’t have a reserve of funds to pay for rent, groceries, utilities, etc while I’m not working. Thankfully it appears my insurance will cover the majority of the costs, I just have a $670 co-pay minimum requirement I have to fill. Beyond that, I just need help with rent and other living expenses. This is really scary to put out into the world and it feels vulnerable. I appreciate all of the support you have given me over the years, which is what gives me the courage to ask for help again. I know not everyone can donate financially, but if you could please help me by sharing this, that would mean the world to me.
