Here is her situation: For 6 years before 2019, Sylvia rented a lovely Irish house by the beach and ran a small doggy sitting and house cleaning business. Things were not easy, but she was able to provide for herself and her pups. Then, out of the blue, at Christmastime no less, the landlord notified her that he was more than doubling her rent. A friend from high school's parents had a house that was a bit of a mess, but they offered to let her rent it for a really reasonable amount if she would give it some TLC and do some work on the house. She moved in there in January 2019, but had nowhere to store her furniture, so she gave it all away to charity. The house was a LOT of work, but she was managing to stay afloat.
Enter the COVID-19 pandemic. Dog sitting stopped. Cleaning jobs stopped. The world stopped. Sylvia found herself with no belongings, no business, and very little hope. Bills piled up and up and up. Overdrafts piled up. Alfie and Jinnie's vaccinations expired. To add to the pile of worries, the friend's parents both recently passed away. Once probate on their estate is settled, the house will be sold, and Sylvia, Alfie, and Jinnie will be without a home. Sylvia has no money to put down as a rent deposit on a new place.
Alfie, Jinnie, and their mum Sylvia are such a bright spot in our anipal twitter community. They bring joy and fun. Let's bring a little joy back into Sylvia's life, by taking the worry of being without a home and drowning in debt off her shoulders, frens!
