Help AJ Fight Crohn's Disease

AJ is a friend of our family and a single dad who has been fighting for his life over the past month with a devastating bout of Crohn's Disease. He has been unable to work due to his month-long stay in the hospital. He has sole custody of his two teenage girls and receives no child support as their mom is currently serving time in federal prison. This week, he has taken a turn for the worse. He's down to 100 pounds. The doctors are doing what they can, but he is not responding to standard treatment. He has ulcers throughout his entire digestive tract. His heart and kidneys have begun failing, he is anemic from internal bleeding, and he cannot eat.

As a single dad, AJ makes a good living as an independent contractor, but not when he cannot work. Until the insurance kicks in, the cost of only one of his six medications is $3000 every other week. When he is stable, we'd like to help him be moved to The Mayo Clinic or another specialist for more treatment options.
