Help Abi Fight Cancer!

Hello friends, family, and loved ones -

For those of you that know Abi, you know she is one of the most kind, caring, positive, and generous people you've ever met. She goes out of her way to make you feel welcomed and included, and she always has a story to tell that will brighten your day.

On the Friday before Christmas, Abi stopped over to chat with me. She mentioned that she was going to the doctor to get checked out because she had been having consistent headaches. A week or so later, we got the news that there was a tumor in her brain and they would have to operate. Abi was a rockstar through brain surgery and has a wicked scar to prove it. They were hopeful that the tumor (which she unaffectionately named Dolores Umbridge) was gone and, after recovering from surgery, Abi would be able to return to normalcy.

Unfortunately, the brain surgery was just the beginning of an uphill battle. During the week of January 22nd, Abi was diagnosed with grade 4 Glioblastoma, which is the most severe and aggressive type of brain cancer. Most people who are diagnosed with Glioblastoma are in their 40s-60s, so it is very uncommon to see it in someone as young as Abi. Though the prognosis is typically 2-3 years with chemo and radiation, Abi's case is such an anomaly that if anyone is going to beat this and live until they're 80 years old, it will be her.

Since the surgery and diagnosis, even with the help of health insurance, her medical bills have been and are still accumulating. Abi is starting treatment consisting of radiation and chemotherapy, so we anticipate more expenses in the weeks ahead. That said, with high copays and costly medical procedures, this has become a financial burden for her. We want Abi to be able to relax and focus on healing and not have to worry about finances during this time.

Even through these trials, Abi remains so positive and cheerful and strong. Her optimism is inspiring on so many levels and we are all fighting alongside her.

In this unexpected phase of Abi's life, we are reaching out for any help we can give her. We appreciate any amount you are able to donate in helping her in this battle against cancer. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and help us spread the word.

Lastly, thank you so much for taking the time to read this campaign for our beloved friend. We are beyond grateful.

Sincerely,
Abi's Army
