Kali Trotter Memorial Fund

Hello everyone-

In early January, we wrote to you with a plea for help in a desperate situation. Our beloved Kali, a vibrant young woman, wife-to-be, and loving mother to a precious 1 year old son, had been unexpectedly struck by Guillain-Barré Syndrome–a rare neurological disorder which causes the body's immune system to mistakenly attack its peripheral nerves.

Kali spent weeks in the ICU, requiring assistance with breathing, nutrition, and other life-sustaining care. Her doctors began treating her for Guillain-Barré, and following slow improvements, was transferred to a rehab facility to begin her recovery journey. Tragically, that recovery was cut short by an oxygen deprivation incident. Kali was without air for far too long, and her brain suffered catastrophic injuries.

Kali returned to the stars on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She spent the last weeks of her life, much like all that came before, surrounded by people who loved her fiercely. To know her was to love her.

We initially set up this GoFundMe campaign to alleviate the financial burden on Kali and her family as they traversed her road to recovery. Now, as we stand in a very different place, the funds raised will go towards supporting Kali’s family, especially her son Zavien, in all that comes next.
