Help A Young Aspiring Makeup Artist

Hello ! My name is Nene Watkins and I am an aspiring makeup artist from NYC. Before the pandemic, I was employed full time to help save up enough money to go to a makeup academy and become certified. Things have since took a major turn, however, I am determined not to give up on my dreams.
    My passion for makeup strives from wanting to create a realm in the beauty industry where black women will feel accepted. It wasn't until recently when Rihanna dropped her Fenty beauty line with a range of 40 shades, that cosmetics companies began to broaden their products to fit melanin skin. However, I believe that it is not enough to simply secure the black dollar. Makeup artist and cosmetic brands around the world are still uneducated on how to properly treat melanin skin. This is why my career in beauty is dedicated to not only putting more melanin models on billboards, but to also pushing beauty brands to offer trainings that benefit the black community as well.
  My certification is only the beginning of the very long journey I have committed myself to.
