I was scrolling Facebook and saw her post a photo of a badly blackened eye. He did it. He was arrested. I asked if I could help, and we started a dialogue. I convinced her to let me set up this GoFundMe. I will make sure all funds go to her.
She’s in South Dakota, and she was reluctant to seek help, thinking about others in greater need. That is the type of person she is. But now she is willing to accept the generosity of others to smooth a transition to a new life away from this violent man.
She is seeking just a small amount to help pay for a storage unit and a deposit on a new place to live. She said any money that she does not end up needing will be donated to the shelter that has been helping her.
