Help a Ugandan Community Get Back to School

On 21 August, I'm taking part in my first ultra marathon race. An ultra is any distance longer than a marathon (26.2 miles/42.2km ) typically starting with 50km.
I'm going to attempt a 50-mile (80.5km) trail run with 1,100 metres (3,600 ft) of elevation.
This is further than I've ever run before by more than a Half Marathon and my previous longest distance was on flat roads. It is going to HURT!
I'm raising money for St.Gyaviira Primary School in Lutungu, Uganda. Will you help?
When I was 22 years old, I spent 6 months in rural Uganda working at a children's development centre. We all know that you shouldn't have favourites, but of course I did! Francis was the sharpest tool in the box, curious and always asking questions. He was like a sponge for new information and loved to learn. He also had an enormous smile and a cheeky sense of humour.
Nearly 15 years later and Francis is a grown man with a wife and twin boys (see before and after photos above!). He works as a teacher and has tried to re-start the near defunct school in his local village - St.Gyaviira Primary School - so that more children in his local area have access to education. The school was running (not quite legally) until the covid pandemic hit and has been closed since. The existing classrooms aren't up to standard and they desperately need to construct some pit latrines (toilet blocks) to ensure that children and teachers have a healthy environment.
I'm hoping to raise enough money to build two latrine blocks plus a little extra to start a second round of fundraising for the next stages of renovation. Once the school is finished, I don't intend to just leave it there. Infrastructure is important but many village schools lack suitable teachers. So I'm working on a long-term plan to ensure a sustainable future for St Gyaviira.
