Help a Single Mom Win Her Divorce Battle

Hi, I'm Ana. I'm helping a single mom of a severely disabled child in her divorce battle. If there is one thing I know, it's how hard it is to go through a divorce and start over.

About 15 months ago, she fled a mentally and financially abusive marriage with just the shirt on her back. She has received no financial help whatsoever from her soon-to-be ex-husband and is struggling to make ends meet. She has been representing herself because she cannot afford a divorce attorney. There are some things that need to be filed. She met with an amazing paralegal who can help fill out the paperwork for her, but she needs funds to help with the costs. I am helping her raise these funds so she can be rid of this abusive man once and for all.

Divorce is hard enough, but when it becomes a battle instead of a mutual agreement, it's even worse.

She hates asking for help and is the type of person (a caretaker by nature) that feels bad if someone buys her a coffee. I have also been helping her with some pro-bono divorce investigation work and helping her navigate things so far. Because the situation is escalating (mediation is this month), she has no choice but to ask for help. The total cost for the paperwork assistance from the paralegal is $1,000.
