Help a Hogan!

 

     On August 6th my mom, Jill Hogan was admitted to the hospital where she stayed for six days. These last few months she has experienced symptoms ranging from jaundice, nausea, weakness to severe bloating. Some of theses symptoms caused her to have a tough time digesting and enjoying food.
     Upon arrival at the hospital the doctors discovered that her liver is not functioning properly, and all liquid/fluid in her body is not being digested. The fluid is spreading to her stomach and legs causing the bloating and difficulty with walking. 
     She was officially diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, severe ascites, anemia, and kidney weakness.  Cirrhosis is not curable, but treatable with a restricted diet and continuous doctors appointments to view the status of the liver. Severe ascites is the fluid spreading through out the body, and the bloating of the stomach. This is also un-curable but treatable and she will have to continually go to the doctors in order to get the fluid re-drained every so often. 
     She is currently in a physical therapy rehab center where she will be working with the therapist to help regain strength and mobility to help her walk on her own again. 
     As many of you know my mother was widowed, and I was left without a father at the age of three. I am also an only child and this health situation has been extremely difficult on the two of us. We have been working very hard on figuring out bills, living situations, and how to cope with this new health diagnosis. 
    For those of you who know my mom, you know how tough it is for her not to be able to walk, run or even dance around whenever she feels like it. She is a very mobile person and always has been. Please help us with her treatment so she is able to obtain her normal life again. 
   Anything helps, and all the proceeds will go to her physical therapy and hospital bills.
