Help a Heart Surgery Patient

In the space of one week, my dear friends and neighbors Diane Harlow (a single mom) and her kids Kyauna and Ty were in a car accident, heard back from the insurance company that the car was a total loss, and learned that Ty (16 years old) will need heart surgery in Salt Lake City (a 4-hour drive) as soon as possible.

Some deer ran into the side of their car as they were driving past a field a mile from home.  Thankfully, other than some whiplash and soreness, Diane and her kids were OK.  Although they were able to drive the car home and then to a body shop in Idaho Falls, the insurance company is refusing to fix the dents in the door and over the front tire.  After Diane pays her $500 deductible, the insurance company will pay the bank what they think the car is worth, and her gap insurance will cover the rest of the amount she owes the bank. However, they will be left without a car.

I am hoping we can help them raise at least $1,500 for a down payment on a reliable car they can use to get to SLC and back regularly, not only for the upcoming heart surgery and follow-up appointments at Primary Children’s Hospital, but also for Ty’s Marfans Syndrome, for which he needs to be seen often at Shriner’s Hospital, also in SLC.  Thank you in advance for any and all help we can get for this sweet family!!!
