My name is Avery Rivers, I'm seventeen, nonbinary, and I just moved across the country to get away from my abusive family after being kicked out on my birthday.
I never had the opportunity to go to high school because of death threats, transphobic bullies upset with a trans kid going to their school knew my address. I was beaten in the halls and told to stop being so 'obvious' by the school admins.
CPS has refused to see my case, despite video evidence of family attempts to harm me, citing that my mom is just 'too nice'. I don't want to be a trans kid stuck in the foster care system either.
Now that I live in Minnesota, I have to pay rent and bills. I can't go to school, and no one wants to hire a kid without any education. I'm lost and unsure of what to do. The only jobs that I can work are sitting down or in a wheelchair, unless I want to be in excruciating pain and risk injury.
The money will go towards paying my rent and groceries until I can get a comfortable job.
