Help A Dedicated Public Servant Beat Breast Cancer

Support Sergeant Sherri A. Wallace in her fight against Stage 3 Cancer.

Our beloved sister, Sherri Wallace is an extraordinary woman.  She is a single mom of one daughter in college – and has been her sole provider for most of her life.  She began her career at the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office 16 years ago and has worked her way up to her current rank of Sergeant.  She is very wise financially and was able to build her own home 12 years ago.  She’s always saved and planned for the future – but nothing could have prepared her for this.

6 months ago, Sherri had major surgery on her foot, and she was out of work on disability. Right before her return to work from that challenge, she noticed a large mass in her breast and was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  The news was devastating, but Sherri is a strong woman. With the help and support of her family, she picked herself up and prepared for the upcoming fight.

As we all know, fighting cancer is expensive.  To date, she has had 11 rounds of Chemo – and a few more are needed before surgery can be performed to remove the remaining mass. After that, 30 days of radiation are needed to complete her treatment. Her body has been responding positively to the chemo and her prognosis is good. However, because she has been out of work now for almost a year, her savings are depleted, and her disability benefits only cover a fraction of her needed expenses.

This is where you come in.

Sherri needs help with the next year of expenses – her mortgage, car note, utilities, food and necessary medical expenses that her insurance does not cover.  We know this is a tall order, but we would not be calling in re-enforcements if it were not necessary.
