Help a Black Trans Girl Relocate for School!

**UPDATE**
I just recently found out that I got accepted into an art school in Chicago!! I'm doing this independently with a bit of assistance through FASFA but I will need some help with moving as well as finding housing and everything else that comes with school and adjusting to a newer big city! ALL THE HELP COUNTS! 

Hey, again.

 

My name's Robin and I'm a newly 21 year old black trans girl stuck in the depths of Portland, OR. I've been living here for about 2 years now after fleeing an abusive relationship and have found myself being stuck in another unstable relationship with a city that doesn't have intentions of caring for me other women like me. Other black people like me. Even after the protests, progress in this city has been more in retrograde than anything else.

After being released from treatment, I've realized for not only my mental health- but my safety and overall well-being has dwindled exponentially in only the 2 years since living here. Being taken advantage of and exploited by previous roommates who I trusted and actually wanted to look up to made me realize that I couldn't even rely on "my people" when I was at my lowest in an environment like Portland.

So my next best bet is to be somewhere my blackness is celebrated, appreciated and amplified rather than tokenized, exploited and hijacked of my potential and self appreciation.

 

tl:dr

I need to leave this abusive fucked up city to somewhere safer and genuinely supportive with resources dedicated towards black queer folk.
