HELP 18 FAMILIES HIT BY DOUBLE DEVASTATION: ETA & IOTA HURRICANES IN SAN PEDRO SULA, HONDURAS.
Dear friends, we are raising funds for 18 families and their communities in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. These 18 families and their neighbors have lost everything as a result of hurricanes Iota and Eta, back-to-back deadly hurricanes that in less than eight days tore through the entire region. Heavy rains and wind have caused rivers to overflow, and landslides and floods have washed away their homes, schools and health care facilities.
Wilmer, Antonio, Yanuario, Blanca, Elder, Miguel, Omar, Damaris, Ruth, Karen, Nidia, Suli, Doris, Porfirio, Ever, Guillermo, Marvin and Bryan. All of them are or have been part of the extended family of the Hilton San Pedro; current or former employees. All funds raised will go to purchase basic emergency supplies for these families and their neighbors in the communities in which they used to live before the hurricanes.
To ensure your tax deductible donation directly impacts these communities, we are partnering with a trusted institution, Glasswing International. Glasswing is a non-profit organization that implements education and health programs that empower youth and communities, and strengthen public systems. Glasswing is currently on-the-ground providing emergency supplies to shelters where people are staying, including blankets, hygiene kits, PPE, food assistance, and supermarket gift cards so people can buy supplies they need (baby formula, diapers, etc.) as well as providing emotional/trauma and mental health support.
