Help Alex achieve his dreams in his last year

Dear Friends/family/strangers

Regarding our friend Alex “Pom”Foster.

4 weeks ago Pom had a bad night with terrible pain in his side. Fast forward 4 weeks and he has been diagnosed with Type 4 bile duct cancer that has spread to his liver, lungs and lymph nodes and earlier this week was told he had 12 to 18 months to live. He has had a 2nd CT scan since and things have progressed significantly. I’m sorry if this is the first time you’ve heard of this.

A few years ago they invested all their savings and inheritance from his partner of 25 years ( her Mum had just passed) into their dream pub in the Lakes and worked hard to make it a success. Unfortunately Covid decimated the business and they had to give it up. Shortly afterwards they started again with a cafe from

Inheritance from Pom’s late Mum. They have invested everything despite hard times in the hospitality industry.

Alex has deteriorated quickly. Jane desperately wants to marry Alex before it’s too late but needs to divorce her husband who is Croatian and she’s not heard from him in 27 years ( he moved back to his country). A divorce will cost £5000 as the solicitors need to trace him etc. Jane has to keep working in between caring/supporting Alex.

I’ll cut to the chase- I’m going to set up a GoFundMe page with the intention of raising as much as I can for them to divorce and spend time with Alex. If I can’t set up a page I’ll take money directly and send it to them.

There is no time to waste so please, if you can, dig deep as you can to give them some time together and take away the stress of the financial pulls of the cafe.

I’ve never done this before and hope to never have to do it again.
