Helmet for Riley

While we were still living in Florida, Riley was seen by Physical Rehab & Medicine. In July she was diagnosed with Plagiocephaly, or flattening of the head. The back side of her head on the left is flat. They thought it could’ve been from lack of rotation while in the NICU. Today, she had the star scan done to determine the need for the helmet to fix the back of her head, and unfortunately she needs it. She is now almost 10 months old, and because of her age, we have a limited amount of time to get her fitted for the helmet because her soft spots can close up. With Eddie being in the military, we have Tricare as our insurance, but they will not cover the cost because it is considered “cosmetic”. I have until Wednesday to let the doctors know if we want to proceed so they can get her fitted. Not only would we truly be grateful for your help, but Riley would be also. I am still going to try to fight with Tricare to see if I can get anywhere, but I have to get Riley ready for hip surgery Monday.
