Helena and Barney's super litter pick

Our wonderful, brave Helena wants to give back to the hospital that has given so much to her. Along with her fantastic brother, Barney, she has vowed to pick up litter for 30 minutes each day for a week. We mustn't forget our toddler Coralie, who, by virtue of being in a pushchair, will join in while they get the hard work done!

In 2014, Helena was born at Ormskirk hospital and was quickly rushed to Alder Hey when it became apparent that she could not swallow. Her oesophagus did not join up and, instead, part of it joined to her windpipe. At 3 days old she underwent her first major operation and spent a further 6 weeks in hospital . Other medical problems led to her being diagnosed with VACTERL association. Since then she has had over 35 more operations, many different treatments and countless appointments. Alder Hey is a safe place for us all: from visiting entertainers in the wards, toys provided by play therapists to face painting in the lobby, it has been a place of fun and joy despite circumstances often being stressful and difficult.

Helena would love to raise £150 to help Alder Hey to bring joy and comfort to other children who are inpatients and outpatients. Please can you support her and Barney by giving a few pounds towards our fantastic children's hospital?
