Hedges Family Assistance Fund

As many of you know I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer in 2011 and got it into a good remission after 2 Stem Cell Transplants back in 2012, but what some of you may not know is that it relapsed last November. They started me on a new chemotherapy treatment and it is doing great, but the side effects from the chemo have kept me from being able to work since January 26 of this year. Because I have not been able to return to work, their policy says that they had to terminate my employment after 4 months, which they did back in May. I get short term disability and will get long term after that and I have applied for Social Security Disability and I’m waiting for their response. So, as you can see, money has gotten extremely tight. On top of this, Cindy’s mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer in December of last year and we have been going up to check on her 1 or 2 times a week in the Covington area (Cindy is an only child, so she is the only one + me to take care of her mother). After many a day of thought and prayer, we decided that we needed to open this Go Fund Me to get help for general living expenses and a few other things to help us get through this time. This is very difficult for us to do, because we are both so wired to help others that it is hard for us to ask for help for ourselves. The money raised will go to help with the following things.

·         Bills – rent, utilities, prescriptions and medical.

·         Car repair and gas – we have older cars that are in need of a few minor repairs, but with the miles we are putting on them weekly are making them a necessity to get fixed soon.

The number I put to raise is just a number (not THE number). Whatever is raised is greatly appreciated and will be used for the things above. I know some of you may not want to give over this site, and you can contact any member of our family to ask for our address.
