Our dear friend and colleague Hedda needs our support and love. Her husband, Michael has been battling lung cancer, and is now at home receiving hospice care.
Many of you may recognize this smiling face but have never had a chance to say more than “Good morning” or Hi there” to Hedda Ciaramella on the RM Team. That is probably in part because since the day she started, like all of us, she has been “eye on the prize” and “nose to the grindstone” busy building relationships and growing business with both our Beeline and IQN Clients.
No one would ever know that her long workdays were followed by even longer nights caring for her husband of 37 years, Michael, who has been battling Stage 4 lung cancer. Hedda and Michael moved to Jacksonville in 2008 from Boston, MA. They have 2 sons and 3 amazing grandchildren, ages 13, 3 and 1 years old.
On Father’s Day this year, Michael was admitted to the ICU for an extreme, adverse reaction to his chemotherapy treatment. He was released to Hedda’s care in August, and today he is at home receiving Hospice Care.
In addition to this tragedy, Hedda’s son Jon Michael, wife Brittany, and their 2 sons (living in Newport, NC) were devastated by Hurricane Florence. They lost everything on the first floor of their home to 4 feet of flood damage (kitchen appliances, all outdoor lawn equipment, toys, shoes and both vehicles have flood damage).
Our primary goal is to bring Hedda and Michael’s family and grandchildren to Florida from North Carolina in time to see him and focus on what is most important – each other.
