Hector Needs Heart Surgery

Hi my name is Scott, I am fundraising for Hector

 

Hector is an 11-week old Cockapoo, and he is very sick; my wife and I took Hector from the breeder knowing that he had something wrong with him; shortly after getting him home, it became obvious that he had something seriously wrong with him.

 

We took him to our vet to have him checked out, and that is when we found out exactly how sick he is. Our vet told us that Hector has one of 3 conditions but would need tests from the Veterinary Hospital in Stirling to confirm which ones he has.

 

We made a referral appointment for Tuesday 26th April (which as I write this was yesterday) after a whole day of tests, the Specialist Vet told us that Hector has Patent Ductus Arteriosus PDA, which is one of the most common congenital heart defects in dogs.

 

Thankfully it is treatable as our biggest worry was that it would be inoperable.

 

We have been told that the surgery will cost £5,000+ and of course, because Hector was born with this, there is no possibility of getting insurance to cover this amount. We will find this money, however much it costs for his treatment; however we are asking you, if you have the means, to donate anything you can spare to help with his surgery bills.

 

 

Hector is in every way a normal puppy, you would not know to look at him that he is sick; he runs and plays with our two other dogs; he knows nothing of how sick he is; he is living his best life. We want him to have a normal life span, with this surgery, he can have that.

 

If we are lucky enough to raise more than we need for Hector's surgery, we will donate any funds raised above what he needs to:

We believe this would make the most sense as they will be the ones who perform the life-saving surgery.
