Heavenly's Thesis Film

Hello!

Family, friends, and strangers. For those of you who don't know me my name is Heavenly. I am a senior at Ohio University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in film and a minor in sociology. I am currently working on my thesis film Sin Esperanza. This film is a film that emphasizes Hope and the importance of family. Esperanza is a young woman who finds out she has endometriosis and cant have kids. This problem comes to light when her cousin is having her baby shower that Esparanza is throwing. This film is heavily influenced by the stigmas surrounding the hispanic culture and in general the cultural norms of the hispanic culture that women are supposed to abide. This story is being made in hopes that more women will feel comfortable in their own skin despite the cultural restraints that are placed on them. I hope a young minority will see that not being able to have kids doesn’t make them anyless of a women. This film means a lot to me because since coming to college I faced many health issues that made me feel defeated and I almost gave up on college and film numerous times. This film also means a lot to me because it is a representation of me having hope and never giving up. When I first started creating this film in Ohio I was told it wasn't producible because there were little to no minorities and nobody wanted to produce my film because of that. I didn't want to give up on my film so I have decided to go back to my roots and film in LA. With everything that has gone on in my private life, I have been unable to work as much as I wanted to and raise enough money to support the production of my thesis film. I have prolonged creating a gofundme because asking for help when I need it has never been something I really have been good at. I hope with the help of family and friends I will be able to fund this film. Some of the things you will help me fund are
