The Procedure
Heather's doctors found a large nodule on her thyroid. Initial tests show the nodule to be benign (non-cancerous), however the growth is large enough to require a lobectomy that will remove both the nodule and half her thyroid, then further testing to be sure the nodule is in fact not cancerous.
