Hi Friends!
We want to thank you for all the prayers for Heather with this very rough hit on her health, 5 ER trips and 6 days in the hospital. Being attacked with a bacterial and viral infection that almost took her out was bad enough but learning that her immune system has been under attack with an Aspergilluis Lung Infection for several months has caused a ripple effect to more health challenges. She’s still undergoing more tests we’re waiting to get results from to see what all she will have to recover from to regain her health.
It’s your prayers that are seeing her through. She has said how very much they mean to her and how much she knows they are helping her through this. Right now, Heather is seeing specialists and is continuing to receive testing and treatment to make a full recovery. Unfortunately, she is already experiencing the impact of what insurance is not covering—it’s a lot.
She is requiring many medical treatments and already they have exceeded our family’s funds. My brothers, mom and I are all pooling together but to have to say ‘no’ to a treatment her body needs to recover is heart breaking.
In addition to doctor bills, since most all of her belongings were contaminated and with the amount of damage to her lungs, she cannot handle even small amounts of exposure now. So, we’ve been working really hard to sanitize or replace clothes/belongings as doctors have recommended due to the environmental exposure and infection she’s now battling. But it’s been quite a hit as you can imagine.
Seeing my sister [and bestfriend] on the road to recovery is a miracle but we know it’s a long road ahead with many things still unknown. So, I’m starting this GoFundMe to help lift the financial burden this unexpected event has caused. Heather has responsibility as a top strength and she’s expressed great concern about the costs of all this. We are praying this campaign can help lift a burden for her so she can focus on recovery and not have to worry about how the bills will be covered or if she can even afford the medical treatments she needs to recover.
