Heart for Curtis

In 2014, Curtis developed Myocarditis and arrhythmia. June 2017, he had an ablation to try and burn off the extra heartbeats. They were unsuccessful as most of the heartbeats were coming from the septum and no trained Dr in Edmonton to perform that ablation there. They were in contact with a Dr. in Toronto to come do it but in the end decided it was too risky. He was put on the maximum dose of all his meds to see if it would help. July 19, 2018 he had an acute attack of heart failure and ended up in end-stage heart failure. There wasn't enough time to wait for a heart transplant after another episode of heart failure in hospital and he was implanted with a LVAD (mechanical/artificial heart). He's been battling a driveline infection since December 27, 2018 where he will be on antibiotics until a heart comes along. His right heart struggles to keep up and our hopes are a heart comes along very soon. He's been off work for a year and a half and will be off work until a heart comes along. We are trying to raise $10,000 to help out living and medical expenses when a heart comes. We will have to relocate to edmonton for 3 months after.
