Heart for A. Rose

Alexis (Lexi) Rose’s journey began at birth with a diagnosis of leukemia and kidney disease.  She required chemotherapy as an infant leaving her with irreparable damage to her organs.  Now at age 17 the damage to Lexi’s heart and kidneys from those life sustaining treatments have her fighting for her life again, but miracles are in the making.  Lexi received exciting news that she is eligible to be on a donor list for a heart and kidney transplant at the Morgan Stanley children’s hospital in New York City that could take place as early as this summer.

The hospital team has informed Lexi’s family that there will be out of pocket costs to cover minimally four to six months of living expenses in New York City.  These expenses include; but are not limited to: housing, transportation, and food expenses.
