Where do each of us begin to start to describe a man who, over the last 20+ has become a mentor to so many of us here in our town of El Dorado Hills and surrounding areas. When we think of gifts this time of year and think of people as gifts in our lives, Pastor Jeff comes to mind as that gift. A treasure that God brought to us the moment he stepped foot into our community. He has been there through all stages of life. When babies were being born, grand babies too. He has immersed hundreds of us with the baptism of Christ. There to help us promise forever on the day of our marriage and there again to be present when it all fell apart. He has been in the trenches with us walking side by side with the poorest of the poor on Mission trips. He’s sadly watched some of us walk away from our faith but been there with welcoming arms when we came back. He’s spent countless hours pacing hospital floors, praying by bedsides and there to lift us up and stand while helping to dry our tears to say goodbye to loved ones.
In the past year Doctors have determined that either Pastor Jeff has been ignoring Jerri, or that he needs hearing assistance! For those of you who don’t know, hearing devices start around $7,000 and are not covered by insurance. This amount would be a burden for any family. This season is a time for giving and between each of us we can help give our treasured Pastor the ability to hear more effectively, hence help him continue to hear our prayers. So let’s gift him just that, the ability to hear. With each donation we will become one of Santa’s elves this season. This is to be kept a secret because we know if he knew about it ahead of time he would send Santa’s elves packing. So let’s do this!! Let's enable Jeff to receive the hearing devices that he needs!
