Hear Her Voice- A women's wellbeing project

Hello, my name is Emma, and I am here on behalf of Neoteric Dance Company to ask for your help.

This past year we have been working on our project Hear Her Voice, creating a mixed-media dance film that highlights some of the experiences shared with us by some ex-service women.

We are coming to the end of our project and we are still looking to raise £40.00 so that we can finish our work.

On Wednesday 8th March 2023 we will be screening our film across Facebook, Instagram and Youtube for all to watch for free before we start to share our film at events and festivals.

This project is supported by Art Council England National Lottery funding, Salute Her, Dr Lauren Gobier-McBard, Fighting with Pride, Flit Fitness, The Body Studio and a few other organisations still to be announced.

Women in the armed forces hold a unique experience. Not only are they having to navigate day to day living in the armed forces - something that all those who join have to adapt to. Women also must learn how to look after themselves and navigate a male-dominated institution and way of thinking. Many women, but not all, will face discrimination and attitudes that do not put their best interests at the heart of a situation.

This project will give women space, time, and an outlet to share their experiences, reclaim and reconnect to their identities, find ways to shape their stories, and much more. Following their sharing, the artists of NDC will then sensitively create a dance and mixed media film that we will share across the UK and beyond.

Neoteric Dance Company wants to create a safe space where women's voices are heard, acknowledged, and taken notice of. It is essential to ensure that ex-service women are looked after and supported in this delicate stage of their personal and professional life.

Your donation will:

- help with the development and running of our workshops

- help bring awareness to the company's new therapeutic and performance-lead work

- continue the company's core professional work, supporting those in the armed forces community and those struggling with their mental health
