World Central Kitchen - Food 4Ukrainian Refugees

 

Join us through our Yoga without Borders program - a joyful collaboration with AHA Yoga and Iyengar Yoga Center of Western Mass for a fundraising effort for Ukraine. This session includes one hour of asana with Devki Desai from India and an hour of meditation with Villy Ma. Proceeds go to World Central Kitchen (WCK) uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. When disaster strikes, WCK's Chef Relief Team mobilizes to the front lines with the urgency of now to start cooking and providing meals to people in need and are distributing hot meals at a border crossing in Poland as families arrive.

 

Villy Ma (Villy Doctor) also known as 'Ma' by all those whose lives she has touched as a spiritual teacher. In 2002 she set up the Satyavati Spiritual Foundation and Light of Life Trust, an NGO whose primary objective has been nurturing disadvantaged children and destitute women.

 

Devki Desai began her study of Iyengar Yoga in Mumbai at the age of 19 under the direct guidance of Sri BKS Iyengar. She is a direct disciple of BKS, Geeta and Prashant Iyengar. Her students often comment on her ability to beautifully incorporate the philosophy of Patanjali, the precision and discipline of the Iyengar practice with youthful energy. She has been teaching at the mother institute for the last twenty years.
