Healthcare in Uganda

Please be aware that my plane tickets, travel visas, vaccinations, living accommodations were all funded by my personal finances, so absolutely none of the donation money through this gofundme will be for me or my trip expenses. All of the donation money will be spent on the equipment and pharmaceuticals needed for the new hospital and health clinic in Uganda.
I'd like to thank Dr. Damien Salamone and Dr. Bert Jacobs for this brilliant humanities opportunity. Late May and early June I embark on an adventure to apprentice under a wonderful man named Peter Ole-Sabay and his wife Maggie. Peter is a Kenyan born man, now a United States citizen, who went back to his home continent to open a 100 bed hospital and health clinic in a place of the world that desperately needs it. He and his wife built the hospital from the ground up.
Our new project takes place in Bukwo, Uganda and is called "The Hope Medical Center". The HIV/AIDS crisis has hit East Africa hard, HIV is no longer a death sentence but a chronic infection as long as one is adherent to their medication. There is absolutly no cure in the world for HIV. Antiretroviral therapy has come a long way in modern medicine but is still outrageously expensive and one must be punctual when taking their pills. The unfortunate reality of the poorest parts of East Africa is the people must choose between paying for these life saving medications or their daily meal. Any contribution to this cause helps. Even a donation of 5$ will buy an off brand low cost pill that will help fight a completely curable communicable disease that people in high poverty areas are still dying from. Thank your for supporting the amazing cause and a small step to better healthcare and humanity.
