Early this year I collapsed on the ground and I was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Queensland. Tests were done that found that I had a mass on my brain. I was in Hospital for an extended period of time and I was unable to work during this time.
Subsequent follow up of the tumour at the Gold Coast Hospital determined that it had in fact grown significantly and I was diagnosed with a stage IV Glioblastoma brain cancer.
Stage IV Glioblastoma is one of the most aggressive of all brain cancers. I had surgery on the tumour where the Doctors removed a significant portion of the cancer. I am required to continue radiotherapy, chemotherapy at the Gold Coast Hospital travelling by taxi or family for treatment most days.
I have worked in the construction industry for many years but unfortunately I am unable to continue doing this while I am being treated for my condition. I have a very long road ahead of me.
I would like to use the funds to help travel to hospital and visit family over in Perth
