Relief Fund for Amanda's Healing Journey

Donation protected
Two months married, life is good. With Christmas just a couple weeks away, and a trip home to see family for the first one in several years planned, joy and excitement was overwhelming. Shawn and Amanda, the two newlyweds, enjoyed another Sunday enjoying football and each other. Retiring to bed early, as they routinely did for work the next morning, all was right in the world. But in an instant their entire world was flipped upside down.

Shawn awoke to his bride flailing and moaning in the bed beside him. As he tried to call out her name, she would not respond. Amanda was rushed to the hospital via ambulance. Shawn had no idea what was happening to his bride, and was not allowed to be with her due to strict covid restrictions.

He soon learned that his 38 year old wife,  now in the ICU, had suffered a stroke from a blood clot in her cerebral artery. The joy and excitement turned to extreme fear, pain, and uncertainty.

As their out of state family members we have felt hopeless. We have thought of every way to alleviate some of the burdens. One way we are certain we can is by blessing them financially. The household income has been severed in half with no certainty of it returning. We KNOW that Shawn has, is, and will continue to carry all that he can, but we were created for commUNITY and desire to lighten his load as much as possible.

Amanda remains in the hospital more than a week later. She will soon be transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation facility to receive, speech, occupational, and physical therapy for an uncertain amount of time. While she has been making forward progress, the road ahead will be long and difficult. We want Shawn and Amanda to be able to focus on each other, Amanda’s healing, and getting her home where she longs to be.

Can you please join us in being cheerful givers? Can we please, as a community, bless them this Christmas with overwhelming outpouring of love and generosity? This will be their first Christmas as a married couple, and it will be spent in circumstances they could’ve never imagined possible. Please, help us send them some Christmas cheer and relief from the extreme burden they are currently under.

We can not properly thank you enough! God bless you and yours this holiday season! Be sure to hold each other tenderly! Thank you for holding Shawn and Amanda tenderly as well!!
