Healing for Julie (Pollock) Lammie

We are all looking forward to our retirement.  We spend the first decades of our lives working hard, raising a family and putting in our time now so we can someday kick back and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Well cancer is trying to take that dream away from Julie. After working full time, often working extra before holidays so she could spend time with her family, Julie finally retired from administrative work in health insurance the end of May this year. After a long awaited vacation with her husband, Dan, and returning on her birthday in June, Julie was ready to settle in to living the dream! Shortly after 4th of July, Julie started to realize that she wasn't living the dream she had signed up for. Here she was, finally away from the stress of the daily grind, and things just weren't quite right. After a battery of tests and lots of anxious waiting she heard the words we all fear, 'you have cancer.' Julie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to her liver. The oncologist only has chemo to offer at this point. Julie has decided to try an alternative approach first, at a clinic with a 38% success rate as opposed to the 21% success rate being offered through chemo. Because this clinic deviates from the current standard of care (chemo only), Julie will have medical expenses that will be out of pocket and we want to help ease her burden so she can focus on healing. Unfortunately, I have never met anyone who hasn't had their life personally touched by a loved one with cancer. We see fundraisers and spaghetti dinners and flyers all the time for all ages afflicted with this devastating disease. Julie needs extra prayers and financial support at this time so she can live her dream. Your help and support will give her the best chance at being able to dance at her daughters' and grandchildren's weddings, at being able to watch the generations she so strongly influenced graduate and make a dent in the world and to live the dream we all work so hard for!
